As a toddler, Christian's knowledge is very limited. He obviously has a lot to learn, but when it comes to animals, Christian is the expert. He knows all kinds of animal sounds, and can spot an animal anytime, anywhere. We'd like to think we've been excellent teachers, but it's pretty apparent that most of his "animal smarts" came from our day at the zoo...
Mark and I hadn't been to the zoo since one of our first dates back in high school, so we had so much fun spending the day with Mark's family there, and watching Christian as he discovered all sorts of new animals. Some of our favorites were the monkeys...
(I was sad to see that Christian no longer measures as an infant, but a juvenile...which sounds a little scary)

We also loved the carousel and the playground.
(Of all the fun, normal zoo animals to pick from, Mark WOULD choose the ugly anteater...)
And of course, we ended the day with a ride on the train. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for such a fun first for Christian!
